Good evening folks,

Can anyone tell me if a starter from an 1987 toyota pickup 4 cyl. 2.2 L will fit in a 1990 Forerunner 3L 6 cyl.
Also, will the clutch and transmission swap over.

Thank you for your responses....

Now my question is .... son had problem starting....we had him clean both battery clamps and posts and make sure the connection was tight....it started working again. After some time the problem came back, we told him to replace BOTH battery clamps...he only did the one that wouldn't tighten and it started working again.
The problem is back.....when you try and start it you get one click. It will run if you run it downhill while trying to start.

Could it still be the battery problem or are we looking at R&R between the relay and starter possibly looking at new starter?

Thank you all.

I would try new battery cables. Over time corrosion gets in and increases the resistance. Electricity likes a clean low resistance path. The cost in money and time is low so if nothing else its cheap insurance
