Hi,

I have a 2000 Tacoma with 165K miles. Recent (5k miles) minor tune up. Brand new Intersate battery.

Perhaps 2 issues, but coincide with each other.

1st often first turn of the key gets nothing, no click no turn nada. 2nd turn it fires right up! Several times it took 3-4 tries to fire up. This scenario has happened about 8 times in one month. New battery solved for a while but now back. Starter? Comes in swarms usually when cold but has been a couple weeks between.

Often when this happens and sometimes even if not, if I turn off the Tacoma within the first minute then try to restart it will be hard and it won't idle until all warmed up. It will stall out. This NEVER happens if I start it and keep rolling till warm.

I'm in So. Cal. and it's usually about 65° at coldest when this happens.

Any clues?

Thanks,

Warren
