I just bought an 88 toyota pickup with a shot motor, antifreeze pours into the motor so i figure replacing the motor is the simplest solution. I just picked up an 84 Celica with the same motor, 22R-E. 2 out of 3 mechanics have said it's near the exact same motor and should fit right in. The third guy says the bell housings won't match and you can't swap one to the other to make it fit. He's not positive of this but he's faily sure of this. Does anyone know if the motors are the same? or any details on the subject?
Thanks
