Looking for some input from anyone with a 2001 Tundra V8 (good or bad).

I currently have a 1997 T-100 V6 w/119,000 miles which I've been extremely happy with for the last 8 years...very reliable with no major issues other than routine maint., timing belt replacement, etc. However, we bought a new camper that is really pushing the limits of the T100's towing capability.

Came across a 2001 Tundra SR5 V8 that has enough power to tow my camper with ease...excellent condition, 78000 miles, TRD off-road package.

But, I'm concerned about giving up my T-100 reliability...

...anyone out there been at a similiar cross-road? If so, how'd you make out?

I hav a 93 T100 SR5 with the 3.0L V6.

I got tired of the lack of power and the poor fuel mileage AFTER the dealer changed the engine from the head gasket recall.

I bought a 1KZTE Toyota engine from Jarco and installed it properly. Now I have all the power that I could even want and 20 MPG hauling my 2,000lbs trailer with over 4,000 lbs of firewood.
It burns very clean even when accelerating.
