I am thinking of getting a new Tacoma 4x4. I am fine with the regular cab and stock 15" tires and 5 speed. I am by no means a speed demon but I do like a vehicle that can pull hills ok and has reasonable acceleration. Is the 2.7 4-banger acceptable? I will test drive one ASAP but also wanted input from those who own one. Thanks.

The 2.7 has plenty of zip. I just bought a 2001 and was very impressed with the power of the 4 cylinder.
As far as the stock truck, mine came with 16 inch tires, and is a regular cab.
All in all I think you would be happy with good luck, let us know what you do!

I bought my 2.7 L tacoma new in 1998, and I must say, I have really enjoyed it.
I use my truck for everything from daily driver to work, to some pritty tough Off-Roading, and it performs extreemly well.
I love my truck and wouldn't trade it for nothing.
I think you will enjoy it, Good Luck.
Don, aka Tacoma Toy.
