I have heard that Tacomas that are 4x4 compared to just 2 wheel drive get worse gas mileage? THat doesn't amke sense to me if you aren't engaged in 4 wheel dr. Does anyone have an explanation ... or is it not the truth? I'm looking at getting a new body style tacoma and trying to decide! Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong, but 4wd = more parts = more weight = less mgp's. Even tho our not putting the power to the front it still has to get that rotational mass moving.

Obviously more parts... but is there really that much more wieght to notice a difference in gas? I mean, when I haul something I don't notice a difference.
