Hello,

I am brand new to this whole Toyota thing. I just bought a 97 Toyota Tacoma (standard) today. I know if you treat these trucks well there run forever. I had a 86 Isuzu trooper 4 speed(loved it). However I am not use to drivin with a hydrolic clutch at all ! and it tends to whine when I am driving. Any advice on how to get used to driving a newer type Truck.

Or any other information I should know. I did my homework on it and so far its a clean truck its got 200k on it. I was looking at a black one that had 300k on it for a grand less . But instead I got a tan one.

Just for clarifiton I am a girl (hope no one cares have a tendecy to get talked down too for it) I can work on my own vehicles with the best of them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)

I would change all your fluids and the following ,so you have a baseline to start with .
Brake fluid
Clutch fluid
Coolant + Thermostat & Temp. sender
Diff Fluid
Trans Fluid
Hope you enjoy your new truck....even with 200.000 your truck should be good for many more miles.
as long as the UT salt isn't eating it up.

I have the EXACT same truck, same color and everything. Only mines not extended cab. Um, do exactly what 98xcabpu said, and also change the oil and oil filter. Also get a new Air Filter. Perferably K&N. Also get some new spark plugs and wires to go along with it. Also get you some fuel injector cleaner and thats it. Yeah it seems like alot, but its got 200K on it, it needs a good tune up. Have fun.. and get you a lift and some 33's, and enjoy.
