After a bit of searching, I'm seeing the Tacoma as a good value for several reasons. Obviously, quality and resale value go without saying. But also is the fact that you can get the 4x4 in a regular cab/4 cyl. version, which is becoming a rare thing. Many companies are offering the 4wd only in a more expensive extra cab or V6 model or "make" you purchase an auto tranny (you couldn't GIVE me a small truck unless it had a 5 speed manual). Any comments?

I agree, I like the 2.7 and I have a 5 speed, leave the auto to my cars, I need the five speed for climbing, hauling my boat, and for fun!
