My 2008 Taco does not make a sound when I lock or unlock the doors using my remote. My brother purchased a 2009 and his has an audible tone when he locks or unlocks his truck.

Is this typical of all 2008 Taco's (no audible tone when locking/unlocking using remote)? OR Is my truck broken?

I was just going to check the owners manual for this same question on my new (to me) 2008 Toyota Tacoma. There is no "click", no "beep" no "chime/ chirp" or anything when I click the remote entry button. I'll go check this tonight and I think it should be covered in the manual.
My 2004 Highlander has a "chirp", as does my daughter's 2005 Camry.
It might be a sound that can be turned on/off. More later.
Tom

Thanks Tom....I thought all new cars that have the remote entry should chirp or beep.
