Hi. I'm still learning my way through the intricacies of my first
runner. I have a question about the operation of the rear power
tailgate window operation.
Our truck is a 1991 SR5 (4spd, 4cyl)
The window lowers beautifully and smoothly. Raising the thing however
is a completely different story.
It seems to raise in steps, about 2" per attempt. It will raise
(close?) to almost 4" from the top of the opening and then it stops.
I am thinking that perhaps the track that the window runs on is
getting gummed up with age and perhaps a oiling and cleaning is in order.
Should the window raise in one smooth operation?
Does anyone have an exploded diagram for this window mechanism to give
me some guidance for what to expect when I get the 'gate open?
I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but very very new to Toyota trucks
(that said, I am having a complete blast with this truck. This week
is our one month anniversary since buying it and I love it!)
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
