Hi Lexus GS300 Owners i just leased my GS300 4 months ago and i am facing a strange problem when i am cruising at speeds between 55 - 70 MPH some times i feel some vipration in the steering wheel i had my car checked by the dealer 6 times and no improvment . The last time was 3 weeks ago and my dealer told me that this is normal with all the GS300 cars 98 and up .
There is anybody here facing the same problem ??

From what I understand, this problem, which also plagues my 99 GS400, is due in part to the lack of surface adhesion from the standard wheels. The harder you drive your car, the more slippage occurs. As the tires slips on the wheel., the weights shift and you effectively incur a permanent balance problem.

We also have a 99 4Runner with the alloys and it has plagued that vehicle also. We changed tires and it helped, but the problem occurs occasionaly to some degree. I would assume, the only way to completely correct the problem would be to purchase new wheels with greater adhesion.

Hope this helps.

Same problem on my '98 gs3. I have seen two dealers on several occassions (over the last year) and the problem is not fixed. I have 16" chrome with Tuarnzas. Has anyone been able to get this fixed? Is there a TBS out there describing a fix?

I just had the dealership replace my tires w/ Michelin Pilot Sports today. I then proceeded to give the old girl hell for about an hour and a half (until I had to refill) and no vibration as of yet. I will keep all informed.

WOW!! ... Great to hear of your good fortune..so far. It is exciting to think that this might be the fix. I look forward to your updates. Do you have 16" or 17"? Mine are 16.

I have the 16" wheels, the ride with 17" was too rough and only slightly better handling. I will keep you informed as to the progress. So far so good.

How's the vibration problem going? Sorry for my impatience, I'm just anxious to get my gs 3 fixed. What is the complete sizing info for the 16" pilots you put on? Was it the same 215/60 as the Turanzas?

Thanks.
