I hear a lot about Scions and how they are so great because they are customizable. How do they drive, though? If I don't care so much about customizing will I still enjoy one?

The xB in particular (the rolling square), is a delight to drive, very easy to control, direct steering, no roll, and a very good ride. The power is adequate for most situations, but could use a little more passing oomph. Driving it feels good, though; the seats are comfortable. There is lots of leg room, and the excellent interior materials are similar to the cloth-seat Lexus. In fact the handling is so good, one is reminded of the new Mini, which is high praise indeed.

The xA handles well, but not as well as the xB, and is a little smaller on the inside. The driveline is the same, except for an automatic transmission and the performance is comparable.

I havenīt seen the Scion yet! At least not in Berlin. Iīve only seen it on MTVīs Pimp my ride, because they show it here. But I donīt really like the design of it. I prefer a Toyota Rav4 ANYTIME ANYWHERE! To me the performance is priority, but I want a car that looks good too. And I like better the lines of the RAV4.. Maybe I will change my mind if I get in touch with a Scion face to face, but as for now, that is not happening!

I understand that you can use Penecillan for Scions. That should get rid of the problem.

Finally I saw a Scion here in Barcelona, where I am at for vacation. People were looking at it in the parking lot, as if it was a very weird thing. My brother in law hated it, because he is in love with his Citroen Xara Picasso, but my sister insisted that there is so much space inside to put stuff! Me, Iīm still not sure about it. Tooo "boxy" for my taste, but if I had a big family and kids I might consider it, although a van would fit better I think... (I still dream of my RAV4)

My boss has a xB, bright yellow, with racing rims. Regardless of what people say about handling, I think the thing is beyond ugly. It looks like a fishtank.

lol, paperclip...I would have to agree that I don't look the look of the car...I wouldn't have thought up the comparison to a fishtank, but you are right on that!

I love the looks of the xB and most likely when it comes time to retire my F-150 in a couple years it will get traded in on an xB. I also love the xB for its practicality, fuel economy and the fact that its pretty inexpensive. Its almost like an SUV, but you can get one for about $17,000. Thats a lot of vehicle for the money, IMO. A decent front-drive RAV4 would cost you at least $30,000. You get great value with the xB.
It seems people either think the xB is the coolest vehicle ever made, or think its the ugliest vehicle ever made.
Wasnt this thread supposed to be about the xA? (the little hatchback) The xA looks like a really nice little car. Decent cargo room, great gas milage. Its just a shame Toyota isnt going to be making it anymore. It is being replaced by the xD, which from what Ive heard will be similar but will be a better car than the xA.

Many people either love the XA or hate it. I guess you can say that with most cars though. I guess to each his own.

I don't like these cars. I haven't driven one simply because I am too scared. Can you imagine what would happen if you were in an accident? The thing is so small looking it wouldn't take much to flatten you. I agree with paperclip... They look like a fishtank LOL

Nowdays, small cars are just as safe as any bigger car. Energy-absorbing materials and airbags have done a lot to make small car much safer.
Infact, small cars do just as good or better in impact tests as do fullsize trucks.

I never did like the looks of the Scion but it does have very good gas mileage and it is customizable.

The xB recently got a new look. They rounded off the edges so it is less boxy but they took out the back side windows.

If you decided to get a Scion, I am sure you will enjoy it. But I just don't like the looks of it though.

I am not a huge fan of it either, but then again, that is only because of the appearance and my taste. People who have them seem to love them though!
