Can anyone describe how difficult it is to replace all of the motor mounts in a 1992 Tercel? The dealer wants $500, and local mechanics have not impressed me with their knowledge of what is involved. Can this be done without an engine lift? Can the transaxle mounts be reached without extreme difficulty? Can this be done by a novice, or is it really a job for a shop mechanic? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I think you can do it yourself but don't think it would save you much money... the prices for just a motor mount range up to about $150-$200 and you might need to buy some other tools or parts to get it properly installed. Unless you know someone who fixes cars... than it would save you money to go to them. But they do sell the parts and kits similar.
