I just purchased a 06 xrs corolla, and I am quite impressed with the performance, given the motor size. With 1500km on it I entered an autocross in Lacombe, Alberta. I inflated the stock 16's to 45 p.s.i. and dropped the hammer down in the front wheel class. Vs Mitsubishis, Hondas, A turbo GTI, and other domestics. On the first run I killed too many pylons, the second run I shifted that tight little 6 speed like crap, but by the third run I carved that course up running two hundreds of a second faster than any one else using only first and second gear, on that small course. Some guys thought I was running a V-6. No just a 4 banger 1.8 to 8000 rpm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif) I swear to god! My first day ever doing an autocross. The toyota rocks! Creamed by a four door sedan... Body roll was very minimal in stock configuration. I am not afraid to drive that thing! Now I feel very fortunate to own that car.
