Does anyone know the sources for the specs of the new Honda Civic hybrid (e.g. horse-power, performance data, etc.)?

I have been keeping bookmarks on the subject, since I ordered one of these last September. :) I'll have two hybrids, and quite proudly.

http://www.hondanews.com/forms/images/index.html?KWx=currenthonda (a dozen or so pictures, including the dash at night, with the engine run indicator showing)

http://world.honda.com/Tokyo2001/auto/CIVIC-Hybrid/

http://world.honda.com/news/2001/4011213.html

http://www.insightcentral.net/compare-civic-pictures.html

<\ a href=http://www.insightcentral.net/compare-civic.html target=new>http://www.insightcentral.net/compare-civic.html

If you Google and search for it you'll find hundreds more.

peace,<br>Linda

Thank you for the great information. Am I to understand that Honda has started taking orders, or is this like a deposit to get the first one the dealer gets. What price range are we looking at. One of the reasons this vehicle intrigues me, is that the Civic body style has been proven and accessories are readily available. Unlike the Prius where we see people designing accessories, the Civic seems to have already surpassed this. As much as I like my Toyota's, Honda also makes a good vehicle.

But the Prius's dashboard is still looking great...

Hi Linda,

Great info here. If you click on the first URL, check out pix 2 and 4, top row on page one. You'll definitely see that this is a stick shift. Yet they say that the hybrid will be a CVT.

Maybe they will offer both, the stick should get better mileage. (YMMV)

Anyway, still love my Super White '02.

Ken

Hi Ken --

It will be available as both a 5-speed and a CVT automatic. :-) However, the VTEC-e engine is so efficient, that the mpg difference should be negligible. Compare the MPGs of the standard vs auto in the EX and LX trimlines. Almost identical.

And, still loving my Electric Green (isn't THAT a double-meaning!) '01! :-)

peace,
Linda
