I see a bit of a trend here. The average time from confirmation of a Prius order to delivery has gone from about 78 days, for orders received prior to mid October, to about 90 days for orders received in November and Late October. Does this sound accurate?
Ordered August 28th, I now estimate my Prius arrival at about Nov. 30th or so. Bill, when did you order yours????

-Jim Alden (day 69, still patient)

Just curious. I'm 20 days behind you, though I am on the West Coast, so I don't know if that speeds me up or not. (no Panama sightseeing for my Prius)
-Jim Alden (day 69 and praying)

I ordered mine on Aug 28 and on Oct 30 asked the dealer to check on prod date as I was trying to do year-end tax planing with the tax credit/deduction . He said I was Nov production which tracks with the 3-4 month delivery schedule. I got my "gift" owner's manual on Nov 2; am now waiting for Santa's sled!

I took someone's advice and ordered the FULL set of 4 manuals on line on Oct 30th even though I don't plan on doing repairs myself. Us type A - EE's just have to know how it all works. I received them on Nov 4 (fast service); they are well worth the $242.65 ($236.65+ $6 S/H no sales tax in OR). Now I can follow the tech posts on this board. I noticed that repair manual volume 1 had two errata sheets - dated 9/7/00 and 10/19/00. I wonder if we will get automatic updates (I doubt it).

Another question - my last new car was an '83. Now with clear coating, what is the recommended wait time before the first wax job. Also what products does anyone recommend.

Bob

PS As a former North NJ resident I'm really enjoying all the Rte 22 info! Do they still have those fun traffic circles in Jersey?

Can someone explain what is meant by "Toyota Confirmation"? The only email I received was the "dealer order notification" - the same day the dealer placed the order. It looks like some of you have received postcards and/or gifts from Toyota. Has everyone received these and, if so, when in the order process? My order was placed on 10/26 so I'll be waiting a while.

Just trying to understand the process.

Bob, I too ordered on Aug 28th (confirmed the same day!) but I got my owners manual in the mail on Oct 23rd.
Hey just for curiosity sake, my PR # is: 1058180868. What about yours? I wonder is these are indeed in order of, ahh, order?
-Jim Alden (day 70 (I can smell it!))
P.S. I too ordered all the manuals. They gave me the option of picking them up, because they originate from here in Los Angeles. I would have only saved $6 and did not have the time, So I should have them in Monday's mail. :D

Toyota confirmation is if you gave your dealer an email address, or if you signed up on the internet. Toyota responds by email saying you are confirmed and you get a P.R. #
-Jim
