find out if it is a belt or a chain. if it is a belt, it NEEDS to be replaced immediately if not sooner. they are good for 90k - 150k miles tops. its also a good time to replace all radiator hoses, accessory belts, crank and cam seals, and the water pump. if its a chain, they are SUPPOSED to last forever, or at least the life of the engine. this information is general mechanical, not specific to the truck your looking at. you can try to call a parts store and ask them if they have a timing belt for that model engine. good luck

If its a V6 then it will be a timing belt and i would recommend replacing it. I always recommend replacing the cam and crank seals along with the water pump and thermostat and drive belts, just because of the overlapping time. If its a I-4 then its going to be a chain. As said before no worry with replacing it. However if it does break then you can expect to be getting a new head and possibly pistons and/or block
