Hi. I'm new here and have a few questions and hope I put this in the right forum.

Right now, I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan. I just paid it off and I'm forever chucking money into this thing. Last week 388 for back wheel cylinders. Now it allegedly needs tie rod ends and bushings. Something that was allegedly put in by another mechanic 16 months ago. If I do that, it is about 425. Then something is wrong with the rack and pinion steering. If the mechanic can get just the one part it's not too expensive. If he has to order the whole rack and pinion then it's like 700. Where I am going with this is I'm tired of paying for this thing. I don't drive it like the General Lee in the Dukes of Hazard so I think somewhere along the way someone is pulling my leg.

Anyway, I noticed the scion xbs. It looks quirky but I'm all about the quirky. I'm thinking of trading this van in while it still has some value to it and putting that towards a scion. I absolutely HATE to have a car payment again but everything I hear about toyotas is that they will last you a long time. I've given up on Dodge. I don't seem to have any luck with them. I have never owned a toyota. I'm looking for a car that I could pay off in two years and then keep for a long time after that.

What are your opinions of the scions? Does anyone who owns one have any problems with it? Any information or input with regard to my decision would be helpful.

Thanks.

I have a friend that has one. He loves it. Lots of room inside and good MPG.
It's a Toyota so I don't think you will have any issues for the first 200k.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif) Well I ended up buying one yesterday. I actually went to just test drive and I'm thinking they are desperate to sell vehicles right now as they give me what I needed/wanted on my van. I actually like driving it better than my van. My kids also said it looked "way cooler" than the van too!
