I had a quick oil change business change my oil, a few days later I discovered that my engine was nearly 2 qts. over filled. My question is can an engine over filled that much possibly be damaged. I took it to my mechanic and he drained 2qts. out to get it back to where it is supposed to be.

usually the engine would eventually just burn off the excess oil, but it was a good choice to get your mechanic to remove it, as burned oil is very polluting. You made a good choice to take it to your mechanic, but I don't recommend another trip to that oil change business
