Greetings fellow Toyota Fans. As a new member to this site, thank-you for allowing me to participate. I recently purchased a 1980 Toyota Bandit RV ( similar to the Chinook). Although the motors runs well, the frame and body have considerable amount of rust. Not surprising on a 28 yr. old Toyota. I'm now considering on purchasing a "used" Toyota truck to move the fiberglass camper from the 1980 model to the "newer" truck. I need some of your expert advice/opinions/ suggestions. Is they out there that have undertaken such a project? Thank-you in advance for any and all comments/suggestions/opinions.

With regards,
Kayaker

Hi Kayaker,

I too have a Toyota Bandit Rv, but mine is a 1985. I'am looking into moving the fiberglass body over onto a 1988 Toyota 4x4, V6, automatic, long bed truck. The old 1985 can not even hold 65 mph on a flat road without the automatic down shifting to 3rd gear. The 88 V6 has 50 more horsepoweer than the 85 4 cylinder, bigger brakes up front and in the rear, and of course there is not many Toyota RVs that are 4x4.

The interrior of the RV is half gutted. How is your Bandit's interrior?
