I have a 1996 toyota Camry with a v6. We have replaced the battery, checked electrical, and uninstalled the "box" under driver seat because they said it had a short. The problem is the car will not start randomly. It won't click or anything. With the key on acc it does nothing at all. On start it doesnt do anything either. I was wondering if it could be the ignition cylinder or something else. Please help, i've had it into toyota 6 times and it gets expensive to tow it. I need help a.s.a.p.

I'm surprised that there hasn't been any response yet to your problem. I am also surprised that the Toyota dealer can't find the cause. Have they been able to duplicate the problem or does it seem to "go qaway" when the car is towed to them? When it won't start, do other electrical devices work, such as windows, gauges, radio? If so, I'd check/replace the neutral safety switch. If not, I'd replace the ignition switch. I've heard of cases in which switches have been broken by having a heavy, key-loaded, key ring used in the ignition switch. This occurred after many years of such abuse. It's worth a checking. Let us know what you find, please. Hy
