I prepared a '93 Paseo for this event, Here she is all ready to go...

It will be the car's first outing with a manual transmission. I swapped out the automatic.

The results.......The Paseo prevailed!Twenty six cars took the green flag for the 50 lap Hangover 100 Front wheel drive enduro race Saturday afternoon. The finish was
really close. After swapping the lead back and forth four times in the closing 2 laps. the FWD class win came down to a drag race out of turn four to the checkers. The Bridgestone Blizzak equipped Paseo won by about a half car length. The white Chevy Corsica that finished second was drven by a weekly street stock driver Rocky Warner. I can tell you this Rocky was driving a lot harder and taking far more risks than I was. Those snowbanks were taller than my car and I wasn't taking any chances on overshooting a corner and getting stuck in them. The old ice racing quote "slower is faster" [when running studless tires on ice] rang true at this event.

Congrats to Danny Ody, [who was runner up last year in this race], but brought home the gold yesterday in the RWD division.

Action during the FWD race. The snow banks were huge and very soft. Put one wheel in and you were done. Many ended up in the banks.

Dan's '69 Caddy is sporting a high compression premium fuel 472 cubic inch engine under the hood. Danny didn't open those huge secondaries in his Rochester Quadrajet all day. He knows all about the "slower is faster" deal. ;)
The same cannot be said for Derrick McGrew and his similar '69 Caddy seen in the snow bank. I am told he ended up there in just second lap! (IMG:
