I am considering a 2007 Sienna LE. I want to tow a tent trailer with it. I am well below the weight limit and I have no concerns about my ability to pull it. My concern is the ride height. I currently drive a 2001 Honda Odyssey and the rear end just about drags on the ground when hooked up and loaded. I don't know the exact tongue weight but I can physically pick up the tongue by myself (with considerable effort). I am also considering a new Honda Odyssey but the towing has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I want to repeat that I am not trying to pull a 5000lb boat or anything but I am concerned because the ride in the Sienna seems so soft compared to the Honda.
Any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks, Al

I would be "very" surprised if there were "any" problems towing a tent-trailer, especially in a new Sienna.

Some tips:

-load your tent trailer with the majority of the heavy stuff (beer, water, extra propane, etc) behind the wheels....back area of the trailer. This will keep most of the weight off the tongue.
-if you want to take extra stuff in the van, put it in the trailer. Keep the back of the van for some clothes, etc.
-if you run into "bottoming-out" condition, you can always get an equalizer hitch

I don't think you will run into a problem. A class 2 hitch should work.
Give the dealer a phone call. They will be happy to advise you, but they will probably tell you to follow the owners manual. In which case the van is rated to tow it.

Thanks; my Honda squats like a dog taking a leak. I see a couple of people talking about airbags. I suppose that would be an option for either the Honda or the Toyota. When I test drove each of them I found that I liked them both. The lease payment would be within about $20 for either van so I am a little torn. The only real "goodie" with the Honda is that you get a sunroof on the EX-L but I would have to move to the XLE on the Sieanna to get one.
Thanks for your response.
