I have a toyota tundra 4wd 6 cylinder 4.7 L. It was bucking at 30 mph steady pedal. I did a bunch of work suspecting sticky calipers and CV joints. I alsorefilled front differential, changed shafts, calipers, pads etc.

Also refilled tranny and changed filter. Haynes says capacity for tranny fluid is 2.1 quarts. I put in appx 2.1 and dipstick was dry. I kept adding. Dipstick still dry. Went through gears in between. Might have put in 3q+ even. Still dry stick.

Tried to drive it this morning but wouldn't budge without appx 3k rpm revving. Reverse or forward. saw some smoke in dipstick/fill tube.

Concerned and puzzled I ask......what's going on here? why dry stick, etc, etc, etc.......
