Drives: 1999 Toyota Tacoma V6
Location: South Texas
I have a 1999 Tacoma PreRunner V6 with an automatic Transmission. I is locked in Park and won't release with the Key in and Brake on. How can I get it into N so it can be moved.

There should be little "hump" near the top left of where the shift lever is. You'll need to pop/pry it off with your key or a flathead screwdriver and stick your key in there. It should release the locking mechanism and you should be able to put it into neutral. Are you able to start the truck? Are you parked on a hill? Maybe have someone rock the truck back and forth or side to side and sometimes that will kick the tranny loose as your trying to shift out of gear.

Check your brake light switch and bulbs are ok and working.
