I have a 95 T100 SR5 with 150,000 miles and just had it serviced with new plugs, plug wires and not too long ago a fuel pump.. It starts and runs fine most of the time but after short trips, it will take a long time cranking then start.. I look at the tail pipe and when it has trouble starting and it puffs black smoke then runs fine.. A friend told me it is an ignition problem because the black smoke indicates it is burning the fuel that was dumped while trying to ignite?? Since the fuel pump, plugs and plug wires are new, what could be the problem?
Thanks for any help!

Perhaps a faulty fuel injector(s). (i assume you've checked your air-filter).

Hmmm, it is possible, but your check-engine-light should come on if a sensor goes bad.

I'm putting my money on bad injectors. You may want to try running some concentrated injector cleaner and see if there's an improvement after a tank or two. Otherwise, start looking at replacing them.

I agree it's probably bad injectors.... I think I experienced that before a few years ago. Good luck in
fixing it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)
