2003 corolla ce-- "where" and how do you dis-connect headlight switch, so headlights do not come on, unless you turn them on manually from steering column?

from what i found on other forums, there should be a drl(daytime runnning lights) wire above the brake pedal up between the dash and front wall of car to engine, you can cut it or completely take out automatic lights too. if that doesnt work the wire should be in the fuse box behind the glovebox (see owners manual to get to fuse box)

if that dont help this might http://dalenet.com/matrixvibe/
it also works for corollas

I did it with my 2006. It has something to do with the wiring on the left side under the alarm red blinking light. There is a box that you can open and you find a white/black wire connected together. I believe you cut the black wire and it turns off the auto turn on sensor. But you dont have to believe me.

A headlamp is a lamp, usually attached to the front of a vehicle such as a car, with the purpose of illuminating the road ahead during periods of low visibility, such as darkness or precipitation. Headlamp performance has steadily improved throughout the automobile age, spurred by the great disparity between daytime and nighttime traffic fatalities: the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that nearly half of all traffic-related fatalities occur in the dark, despite only 25% of traffic travelling during darkness.[1]

All day light is so useful though! Especially when its cloudy and you're confused about headlights.

There is a legitimate need to turn headlights off sometimes, usually in emergency situations (i) to conserve battery when stranded or stopped on highway but the battery is low so that you dare turn off engine, (ii) to recharge a battery by driving around (with all extra power consumers like lights and AC turned off). I could not find an easy way without cutting wires but here is a tip that may be useful from my local AAA towing folks--
turn headlight switch (stalk) to off, turn engine off, engage PARKING BRAKE (!), turn on engine again and voila lamps will be off. Obviously, you CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR with parking brake on!
