Anyone had a chance to upgrade the main headlights on their Prius yet? Mine are just plain poor compared with our other car. I asked the dealer to check the alignment, in my mind they aim too high. Dealer claims they are perfectly aimed. Now I'm wondering about larger bulb power, or european reflector assemblies.

Aside from that, the poor visibility when backing up and that STUPID beeper that accompanies the exercise, we LOVE the car. Got 62 MPG on an entire days worth of hilly western NY wine country visits.

So far the dealer appears way more professional, and a **** of a lot cheaper, than the local Volvo emporium.

Happy New Year - my best - JB

I just picked up my Prius yesterday. The high beams are way too high. I can see everything fine 100 yards ahead, but the road 100 feet in front of the car disappears!

I will call the dealer and see what can be done. One thing I noticed on the Prius I have never noticed before on any car's headlight beam is the defined "Cut Off". It's not a gradual loss off of illumination horizontally. It's almost a defined boarder of light and dark. No gradual fall off

The high beams are definately very high on this car....they are almost blinding...the low beams are enough for me.

Do you have the auto levelling feature on your car? Maybe that effects the light beam and could be adjusted?

I will admit the high beams are very bright and blinding at times when you come upon them.

Personally, I hate those lights a lot. I mean a LOT! At me or behind me, they are horrible.

They are sort of annoying out here in a rural area. It's pitch black at night and those things in front of or behind you are killers.

I know what you mean I've driven down some country roads and those things are so bright you can even see the roadway.
