Ok, so the moment for my MY2002 order is nearly here and I have decisions to make (informed by the price list, of course).

One question which may seem a bit silly: For anyone who has a nose mask on the Prius or any other car, when do you wear it and when not? Is it mainly good for bugs? If so I could see removing it in the fall. But if it is for stone chips and stuff, then do you take it off at all? Is it helpful? Is it ugly? (Is it uglier than bug carcasses?)

Thanks,

Burns

There is quite a discussion on either this or the groups board about the propensity for the nose and front bumper to lose paint from road debris (small rocks, large sand, etc). I find the bra to be visually unpleasant...and it also deteriorates fairly rapidly. Plus, it disturbs to some slight degree the car's aerodynamics. I opted for a clear bra. Not noticeable unless you are up close and looking for it, and so far it seems to be doing its job.

(www.xpel.com is one source. Some local window-tinting shops also carry the film. I opted to buy the film from their web site, but then paid about $80 to have a professional install it.)

p

Burns,

I opted not to go with the bra which I was told would protect the car from stone chips etc. However, I was also told that since I live in a humid climate, Charleston SC, that mildue would be a greater problem in the summer.

Joe

Burns,
I would no sooner put a bra on my car than a sway-bar on my wife.
Sam

Ouch! Don't let Baby hear you!

Bra and paint have sustained NO wear and tear since Front End Mask application 7 months ago.

If weather's inclement, I remove and wash about every two weeks, otherwise about once a month.

DO use a quality wax under the bra.

DO experiment with going topless or bottomless from time to time. (Bra is in two parts--it's like having a swatch car, or three cars.)

DO look at my Bra pics on PriusMods group, and decide for yourself.

(Don't tell Baby):

I thought the Prius was the most stone-ugly car I'd ever owned, until a few weeks went by.

Funny how the California design team comes out with cars that "look more Japanese" than the Jp team!

Jeff (Prius's real beauty is beneath her skin.)
