I just purchased a 2008 Prius Touring addition. I love the backup camera, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to have the camera active all of the time, and not just in reverse. The visability out of the rear view mirror isn't very good, and I thought it would be great if there was a way to set the camera to always be on. Any ideas, please let me know. Thanks....

I've had the same thought, but only as it relates to parallel parking. I'd like to have it remain on when I pull up just a fuzz and not have to jump back to reverse to see if I'm in the space OK. I, would be great for it to stay on for 20 seconds or so, like the other features on lthe screen, then default back to the mpg screen, huh?. But you really have to watch the use of the camera even in reverse, because it is such a wide angle lens, things come at you fast - I can't imagine it being of any use travelling foward at much of any speed. I applaud you for making a wise and environmentally friendly decision in cars! Enjoy.
