My wife's 06 XRS is coming up on 60,000 mile. Up to this point all service has been at the dealer. Like most of us, our finances are beginning to strain, and I figured I'd do the service myself. I've rebuilt several engines and hot rodded a few more, so this is well within my ability. I have a 73 18RG engine in my Sprite that requires measuring the distance between the cam and valve bucket, and then you have to remove the cam, and replace shims under the bucket to make up for the required distance from what was measured. A time consuming process best done at a cold setting and a big handful of various shims. So how are the new engines done? Hot or Cold? Anyone point me to a good service manual? Any other suggestions when doing the 60K service? Otherwise I'll just follow the service manual.
