hey. ya, you will definitely have to strain the veggie oil and mix it with the diesel fuel before filling up, unless of course you are using brand new, refined oil. placing a better filter on your vehicle is also a necessity. for more info. check out greasenotgas.com

I am running used cooking oil in my van and in my car. YES you have to filter it VERY well before you use it - you must get it down to 5 microns or less. No you don't have to mix it with diesel before you put it in the tank. A lot depends on how warm (or cold) it is in your country as to what ratio you can run. I have so far run up to 80% oil, with no issues at all. You could probably go higher if you install a heat exchanger to warm the oil before it passes to the fuel filter.

very important, make sure you register with the tax man that you are running on veg oil. You will have to declare how much you use (up to you how much you declare of course) and pay tax on it.
The UK has a few compounds full to bursting with diesel vans and cars impounded because the owner did not declare they were using veg oil in the tank.
It stinks of course so its very easy to tell if your running it and a simple "dip" test will tell all!

If you can filter is very well, you can run 100% veggie. My Dad does it in a Ford. You have to replace any rubber fuel hoses tho as it tends to eat older rubber lines. And it really cleans out the fuel system so expect to change the fuel filters often for first 1k or so.
The engines really like it and run smoother with more power. It only cost 1/4 of what pump Diesel cost here, but he is stopping production because the government starting to get on peoples cases.
