Hi. Im having a problem with my 97 celica. there is quite a severe vibration and knocking noise coming up through the floor on both the drivers and passngers side. the car also pulls to the left quite severely. at first I thought it could have been the exhaust but as the vibration is on both sides this is unlikely. Can Anyone help??

Cheers

check you suspension, brakes, and tires. If it's pulling I would definitely look into your suspension and steering components.

Check for bad or broken tie rods, CV joints and have your alignment looked at as well. Wouldn't hurt to have your tires re-balanced as well.

If it's really bad, do check the CV joint and someone already mentioned. I had that kind of vibration happen and that's what it was ....kind of an expensive fix too.

It might be your suspension or engine support or transmission support. Usually, if one of those parts needs to be changed, there is a strong vibration of the engine.

Well to be quite honest these responses probably havent helped him that much. Its like saying..."yeah check everything in the front of your car...its probably something up there."

How about asking questions to locate the problem.

Does it happen while driving? At low speed? At high speed? In neutral while stopped? In neutral with high RPM? Does it happen while Braking? Turning? Reverse? Does the car pull while braking?

Do you have access to a jack? If so jack the front of the car up one side at a time. Can you push the top of the tire in towards the engine or pull it out towards you?
