Hope someone can help. I just bought my truck on ebay and seems to be a great truck. I put new tires on the 4 wheel drive, balanced and aligned it. When I am starting off on the highway around 60 miles per hour it vibrates and slows down around 70. Anyone out there had the same experience and if so what was the solution. I thank you in advance for any help you can share.javascript:emoticon(':s10:', 'smid_17')

Make sure the lugnuts are torqued correctly to 83 ft/lbs. I would grease the zerks and u-joints as well.

Describe the vibration more. And did it happen before you put new tires on?

YES IT DID VIBRATE BEFORE PUTTING THE NEW TIRES ON., HOWEVER IT IS NOT AS BAD AS IT WAS. TODAY I MOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WHILE IT IS PLANTED TO THE GROUND AND I HAS SOME PLAY. wOULD THAT BE A BALL JOINT? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/s10.gif)

Or bad steering rack bushings. To check those, put the front on ramps or jackstands, have someone crawl under the truck and have you or someone else turn the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right a few times. You should see no movement at all on the steering rack, if there is then it's time for new bushings.

Everything went fine with the bushings however I stripped the bolt on the passenger side bottom where the boot wraps around. Any ideas... the top is torked as speciffied.

If you're still working on that stripped bolt, craftsman has a set of sockets that should do the trick.

Thanks,

I thought about that but haven't had a chance to look for these tools. You just reminded me that this has to be done.

Thanks,

Jimmy
