Hi, my Toyota Vios is 3 months old. Lately I realised my leather seat is starting to fade in colour. I am wondering if something can be done to remedy the situation.

Attached a picture of my leather shoe. Any advice are greatly appreciated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

Sorry, I mean picture of leather seat instead (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

That seems really fast for fading. Is the car parked where the sun is hitting it all the time? If you're garaging it most of the time, I think I'd go talk to the dealer and ask.

I don't park my car in the garage. I park it in the public carpark which is not sheltered; Hence it is always subjected to rain or shine. However, I suspect it is caused by sweat accumulation or something that bleaches the leather seat.

But still, it's only 3 months old! There's something not so right about that. Have you spoken to the Toyota garage????

Not yet, maybe I should consider doing so.

Even if the sun were hitting the seats, at only 3 months old, the seats should not be fading. Definately contact the dealer, you should have a warranty to cover.

That's what I was thinking. Get it into the garage and let the dealer see it while it's still new. That's what
warranties are all about!

Although I really havn't heard of the color fading on leather seats (From sun), I definately know they can crack through worn use and excessive sunlight.

I never thought of colour fading on leather, either. But then my car with leather interior spends most of the daylight hours in the garage. I'm glad to know about it though. I can watch for it.

I've never had black leather so I don't know about that fading. I've had dark gray and tan and even though I leave the sunroof open all the time in the summer, I've not had fading.
