Hi There,

I was wondering how most of the people here, in North America with HiAce's, have their electrical hooked up. I have a connector for electrical that connects from the outside that I assume is for RV parks or connecting to your house. I also assume it's to charge your house battery or bypasses the batter if the house battery is full. Could somebody please enlighten me on how this should work or maybe point me to a diagram. I'm not even sure what to call the components.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I am an electrician. I don't know what the electrical standards are in Canada for this type of thing but any mobile home, caravan, van or other vehicle that has a connection point for electricity must be wired properly, including a verified earth connection.

I suggest you ask around and find an electrician who can assist you. I would not be playing around with something you aren't competent with.
I have seen situations where the bodies of caravans have become live due to dodgy wiring and it is a death trap waiting to happen.
