I put a comp cams 87-127-4 cam with .445 lift in my 87 4wd toyota truck. The motor is fresh with a header and a carb from a 318 chrysler v-8 adapted to the intake, other than that it is stock. I have set the timing from 0 to 12 degree btdc at 2 degree increments and the power sucks.the vacuum advances are o.k. and I installed the cam straight up.the timing chain is right and the compression is perfect. The carb is not a progressive linkage carb,it idles perfect but the power is crappy.Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to make this thing move, lol? It had more power with the stock carb and cam, thanks

Did you correctly jet the carb? Also, that carb may be too big for the amount of airflow the little I4 sucks down. You have to have a carb that has the correct CFM for the engine. I don't know if you know all this and have figured it out or not, but it might be something to look into.
