Hi all,
This afternoon I was driving home and to pull into our apartment complex, I had to make a left turn, but a car had broken down right at the intersection causing a lot of traffic and making it impossible to make left turns. So, I did what everybody else was doing and went over the median and the moment I did that, I realized I made a big mistake. Because I heard a really loud bang from under the car. So, now I'm wondering what I should do? Check for any leaking or take it to a mechanic,... any suggestions? Does anyone know what part of the car is most volunrable in these kinds of situations?

i would take a look under the engine area and see if you can see anything leaking. the oil pan would be the first thing to leak because it sits the lowest. did the exhaust sound loud afterward?? did the car drive differently?? i would have it put up on a lift just to make sure you didnt damage anything too bad but make sure your not leaking anything before you drive it to a shop.

no the exhaust didn't make a noise and the car doesn't drive any different. I would have looked under the car to spot any leaking, but it's been raining like crazy in the past 2 days or so. I'm planning to take it to a mechanic tomorrow just to get it checked out. Thanks for the reply.
