Please forgive me if someone already answered this in a different post. I know how annoying newbies that do that are from my experience in my other car forums. I'm actually just a friend of a Corolla owner trying to help her out because I know more about cars than her. I've already tried searching the web & searching your forum (and other corolla forums), but haven't had any luck. Anyway, to the point... My questions are:

What is the typical life of a 2004 Corolla's alternator?
What is the typical life of a 2004 Corolla's serpentine belt?
Were there any known problems with this year/model of car's electrical (especially it's alternator, starter, battery, belt)?

I believe she just has the basic model engine. Automatic transmission. I don't know how many miles are on it. Sorry. She bought the car when it was brand new, replaced the alternator and battery & starter 2 years after buying it. Now she's having another problem that I believe is linked to her alternator again, maybe even her belt too. I'm just trying to find out if 2-3 years sounds about right for these cars' alternators. It doesn't to me, but I've never owned a Toyota. So, if anyone could just give me an idea of the typical lifespan & possible defects that would be great! Thanks!
