I was wondering what brand of tires are being used on the Prius? Hopefully none of those wonderful Bridgestone/Firestones made in Decatur, IL!

I believe Toyota uses Goodyear (at least that's what my Camry came with).

They are Bridgestone Potenza RE52. Size P175/65 R14 84S. I haven't seen anything that deemed these as one of the "Bad Apples".

The bridgestones are the only tire speced for the '01 Prius. We were a few days ago that Bridgestone may be working on an applicable snow tire. PM

Toyota service bulletin states that the tires on the Prius are 175/65/R14 XL....XL meaning that they are extra load capacity tires....meaning those tires are a little small for the weight of the Prius....my reccomendation...replace with the same tire availible only through special order at Toyota dealers or Bridgestone dealers (not affiliated with current recall)....any more questions email me.....thanks<br>Jason
