What is your all time favorite celica? Everyone seems to have their own favorite model. What is yours and why?

I had a 76 fastback. It had a header and I fabricated a "cold air intake". It reminded me of a 3/4 version of the 60's Mustang fastback. There was no comparison to the sound of a V-8, however, it handled well and got respectable gas milage for a mid 70's car.

My brother had a 1977 Celica, black with silver stripe. I had a 1997 Celica, Cherry Red!

We are a family of Celica owners. It was the first sports car I ever rode in (My brothers) and the first sports car I ever owned.

One of the things I really like is the resale on them. They hold their value well.

Id have to vote for a mid '80s Celica. Rear-drive, 22R engine (absolutely bulletproof) and had the flip-up headlights. A friend of mine had one. He beat the heck out of it all the time, ran it out of oil twice and even with well over 200,000 miles on it the darned thing still wouldnt die.
After the body was so rusty that he could drive it on the road anymore he used in in the woods behind his house running over trees and jumping it. He finally killed it by putting a brick on the gas pedal and holding it at redline for 20 minutes. Eventually the engine overheated, pushed all the coolant out and melted all the internals of the engine.

I'm with you man, I had an 85 Celica GTS in Super Red, it was awesome!
Beautiful tuck and rolled leather seats it was a tough little car.

There was only one car to replace it with and that was the Supra.

Bake,
Just out of curiosity, why was your friend working so hard to kill the car? The only issue I had with my celica was ground clearance.

The 80's celica were one of a kind car that were so durable. They seemed to run forever.

My brothers 1978 Celica was pretty tough. No matter what he did to it and with it, it refused to quit.
