I am just wondering. I don't need new tires or aliment but I always wonder about something.

Several years, I used to take one of my older car to a tire place to replace my tires. They always tell me that whenever I replace my tires, I should have a wheel aliment done also. They convince me to do so.

Anyway, I no longer take it there anymore because they were unhappy about beating someone else's prices the two times I took it there and they end up doing terriable job in replacing the tires (for example, wrong tire pressure). But I always have the wheel aliment done whenver I replace the tires on the car.

Now my question is, is it really necessary to have a wheel aliment done whenever you replace the tires?

No. The only time you need to get an alignment done is when you mess with the geometry of the suspension such as adding a lift, replacing your steering rack, replacing tie rods etc.

Humanoid is right. We don't ever have our an alignment done unless the car/truck is pulling one way or the which... I have never heard of needing it done just for having tires changed... Now you do need to have your tires balanced but other than that.. We never do anything else when changing the tires.
