I have a '99 Limited w/ 76K miles on it. Just had the shocks replaced and have had the wheels balanced 4 times in 4 months but it still shudders horribly between about 67-72mph. It doesn't feel quite as solid as it used to over rough roads, either - almost like there's some play in the front end. I've been told that re-packing the wheel bearings might help but want some input from others. Any advice? Thanks, Smittie

How old are the Tires? When I first got my 98 I had a terrible shake at the same speed with similar problems. Turned out to be a broken thread in the radial. They would balance fine but when on the road start the shaking again. Replaced all four tires and the problem went away. 4 tires may sound expensive but when your talking about front end work that may be even worse. Hope this helps.

How old are the tires? I replaced my tires at 39k and also replaced the front shocks. Problem solved.

Tow/toe arm was shot on my 95. Apparently my front wheel was wobbling laterally as I went down the road. Replaced it and my fuel efficiency went up by 5mpg and I lost all the shuddering. Shop that found the problem wouldn't even try to align the wheels until I got it fixed! =B=

Thanks for all of your responses - very helpful. I'll hold off on replacing the tires until it's necessary, probably another 10K miles. Hopefully that'll do it and I won't have to do any front end work. Appreciate the advice. -BS
