Ok, I asked at the toyota web site, but the answer was sometime this year... maybe in the summer.

Anybody have a better date... say like then end of june... mid Sept.... I remember a off hand message posted but I think that was about a clear as the one I got from Toyota....

I know Toyota does not want to give the "to the day" date as lots of people would wait... me I want the options that the 2002 has been talked about having.

Thanks in adv.

Perry

Regarding when can the '02MY car be ordered - there is no "to the day" date because it has to be flexible and roll when the '01 sells out. I can tell you definitively that it won't be before the last '01 is ordered. So where does that leave you in timing relative to today -- purchase requests received today are fulfilled from May production - so there's only about 2 1/2 months of '01 production left.....considering the sales pace by May or June all the '01s would be accounted for.......sometime this summer would be the earliest realistic timing.....you can always place a deposit with a dealer to be the first in-line for the next year's product but I don't see a formal system any earlier. That's the best I can give you at this time. PM

Priusman,

I would be more than happy with a 2001 if I could order it with side air bags and cruise control. It would cut down on my wait too.

Ken

Thanks very much for the reply. I was thinking along those lines, and thought I got the "Canned" response. You cleared things up very nicely..

So I wait and lurk around the club... I might get the old Olds Cutlass cleaned up and hop down to one of the dealers and cut a deal just has you said... might even test drive one...

I use the Olds as depost, and sometime around July-Aug order. Then around Oct-Dec I get the new car... This way the 1990 Olds model is one less year old... and with only 153,000 miles it is just now broke in ;)

I like to break in new tires in the fall/winter down here in Texas anyway... 102+ days can be hard on new tires... so I am told.. and we don't get under 50 here sometimes until very late Dec... I remember one year we even did not get under 30. So I should get great milage...
