Hey all--appreciate any help here.

The symptoms are:

The car overheats (never past 3/4) and the fans dont come on. The gauge works, and the fans do kick on for 15 seconds or so when I turn on the AC.

I swapped out the coolant switch, still no good, still overheats and the fan doesnt come on. Does this sound like a bad wire, or a relay, something else? I've been having a hard time tracing the wires to see if I need to swap a relay, or just run a wire from the sensor to the fans. If its a relay, where would I fint it?

Thanks so much,
Steve

Found the relay--think I just need to swap the Fan relay in the underhood fusebox?

Well now Im thoroughly confused--but at least I can drive without overheating.

I found if I disconnect the wire to the coolant switch the fan stays on constantly, and shuts off when I shut off the engine.

I may as well have woken up this morning and flushed $100 down the toilet though because I didnt figure that out until after I replaced the coolant switch and the fan relay.

When you say "coolant switch" is this the thermocouple that measures the temp of the coolant ? Because if it's not, you may want to replace the thermocouple.
