I am interested to know which model year four runner has actually been the best so far. I know any year they change their physical madel and design, they will have a lot of problems to work out, but I don't know which years they changed the designs. So could anyone tell me your opinions on which year model has been the best to purchase??

TIA

There hasn't been a great deal of change in the 4-runner so it comes down to what you want to spend. They hold their value well, but like every care the farther you go back the cheaper it gets. I vote for the 4-runner no matter what year you get.

Just be careful to make sure the steering recall was taken care of. The ones from 1990-1995 had a recall on a steering relay rod. I had a 4-runner that popped during a hard steer, probably from this issue. I can tell you the 4-runner is a very reliable vehicle. At least it has been for me.
