Hi I am getting a whining noise when I turn the steering wheel. It gets gradually louder as I put more lock on. Any help? Cheers.........

I checked the fluid level and it seems fine but the whine does get louder the more I steer.

I just hope the power steering pump hasn't failed. 

Apparently the noise can also be caused by the water pump or A/C compressor

I'll have a proper look at the weekend......cheers

hi mate it could well be water pump as when you steer it alters revs on engine also it could be the belt

I got my bumper fixed after a knock at the rear and the whining steering noise from the engine bay has gone away!

Big time, I had it booked in to be looked at and cancelled.

I could hear the whining every day but I haven't heard it in over a week now!!!
