I was wheeling yesturday and got stuck pretty bad. I was with a group of jeeps and we all got stuck. All the jeeps were winched out with a warn 9000lb. I needed to be winched out by two trucks... both with warn 9000's. I was planning on buying a milemarker 9000lb winch ($500 cheaper than warn but still very reliable) but I'm kinda wondering now if I should buy a bigger one like a 12000lb. I may be able to get by with a 9000 and a snatch block (or two) but don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere with no help for miles. Any advice... what do you guys have on your rigs? By the way, I have a 78 FJ40 with alot of extra weight... 4" lift with 33" mudders, heavy duty front and rear bumper, custom steel tire carrier, and lots of weight in gear in the back... plus my fat but. I was planning on ordering this week so let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Cameron

I have the Warn 12000 and am not impressed. I have replaced the all the solenoids and the motor in three years of heavy use. It really does not pull that well. I would like to see the new WARN 9.5ti Thermometric Winch - check all the prices out at Sherco - the prices are very competitive! http://www.shercosales.com/ - If I were going to buy I would snag a 16,500 from Warn - just because it is a beast of a winch and not really that much more money.
