The Toyota Dealership said 16-inch steel rims may not fit on a 4 cylinder Limited due to the brake caliper size. However, he couldn't say for sure. He said I'd have to try to install one.

The 2007 Limited comes with 225/65R17 tires and 17" aluminum rims. I am hoping to use 225/70R16 tires and 16" steel rims for the winter. Has anyone out there installed a 16-inch rim on the 2007 Limited?

All 2007 RAVs have the same brakes, so you can use any RAV wheel with any trim level.

If you don't want loss of power, don't change the wheel diameter. You might be able to use a little wider tire if you want. My preferred tire for all surfaces is the BFG A/T. I've had the Duelers as well as many other "A/T" tires that came OEM on trucks and the KOs just beat them all to hell. Better traction, puncture resistance, road noise, etc. Bob

I run 265/75/R16 Cooper Mud Tires on my 2002 4Runner which is one size taller and I still see the same MPG.

Hey J, I dont know how much room you have to get stuff to VI, but doesnt sound like it is worth dragging an extra set of tires/rims if all you need is a good rain/snow tire. Your Dunlop ATs are probably a good choice if they still have good tread left. Michellin LTX M/S or Michelin LTX A/T are VERY good. they are quiet, great in wet/snow, and last forever. My buddy has almost 100k on hisMichellin LTX M/S. one key thing to remember, is that narrower tires are actually better in snow/rain. they sink down and bite the road. big wide tires look cool, but they plane on top of the water and snow and loose traction easy. Good luck, Jason

Hey Guys, Cheers for all the great info so far. I have a bit of an update. The Dunlop Rover AT's I have on now are 31 X 10.5's on 15" stock rims. There is an avg of 6/32 tread left. However, there is not much room left until the tread has worn down to hit the low tread indicators. (those little raised bits of rubber that become flush with the surface once the tire has been worn down far enough; for any of you that didn't know) I am telling you this because everything I read says that 6/32 is quite a bit of tread but man before I put the bias'ply winter tires on I was sliding all over the place on snowy/icy conditions. And every time I gave it the smallest amount of acceleration (while not in 4X4) my ass end would slide right out. Basically I trust my own experience over what a catalogue says 'should' be good tread I am just wondering at what tread depth you guys are replacing. As far as the replacement tires I have decided on the BFG TA KO's these are a fantastic tire at a fantastic price. What size would you guys recommend? 31 x 10.5? or maybe 235 R75 15's I like what Jason had to say about thinner tires and I agree. Just wondering if 10.5 is too fat or just right. Again, cheers for all the help guys.
