If you want to listen to Howard Stern you need Sirius! ;-) Dan

Dan, I must not have anything else to do today.this is more fun than work anyhow. I have XM Roady2. It's great. I travel a lot and use it for music, news/talk and weather. I really like it. I went with XM because I don't care about Howard Stern nor NFL games being broadcast. If I were a trucker driving during the weekends I might change my mind on that. The XM is cheaper at $9.99/mo. but Sirius seems to be able to land more "talent". Seems like $500MILLION!! Is a bit much for Howard Stern, but good for him! If you want a great selection of Music and news/talk I think XM is fine. I live in Pittsburgh and can tell you that the traffic & weather reporting is pretty darn accurate and stays current. In fact they provide a toll free number for drivers to report traffic situations. Regarding the XM Roady2.I went with it for two main reasons.size and wireless communication with the radio. In case you don't know, the sat-radios need to communicate to your car radio. The Roady2 has a built in wireless FM modulator. I select an unused channel on my car radio and tune the Roady to the same. It works OK, but I frequently have to change the stations if I leave my "home" area. They provide a cassette adapter too. It provides drastically better sound quality than wireless, but then there are wires hanging all over. Keep in mind that you have the power cord which goes to a lighter socket, the antenna cord, and the cord from the cassette adapter. I'm in the process of burying all the wires the best I can, but cant think of an elegant solution to get rid of the cassette adapter wire. I mentioned the size.in XM the roady seems to be the smallest for the price, although I've recently seen new ones out that are smaller yet. Thanks, Andy

Ok i wondered mostly about the weather and traffic. IM on the roads on the weekends to various parts of texas mostly. It would be a great help during hte week when going to dallas to hear of good accurate traffic data. Nothing sucks worse than JUST exiting onto a hghway that has a wreck on it. As for the Roady2,..funny you mention that. I was at Best Buy sunday checking them out. For about 200$ it included the car thing, house thing, and installation for $49. I wasnt real sure where they were going to mount the stand but they said they could put the antennae where i wouldnt necessarily see it. Still again, not too sure of that one. And i am assuming hte power would be linked into the system rather than thru the ciggie lighter... The dash of the 2004 4 Runner does not lend itself well to adding anything. I am glad you mentioned the wireless thing..i wondered about that too. So i was almost into it when i saw Sirius and remembered that is also on my dish receiver although i never listen to it. So..here i am. Any other thoughts? Thanks Sharon

I mounted the Roady2 on the dash to the right of the climate control. There is an area that fits the two faced tape mount. I'll email you a picture if you want. Thanks, Andy
